Yes they don't require activation and yes they aren't "monitored" over the internet but if someone audits your organizaiton and finds you're using the same retail key on every computer then you're in trouble...

i use xp didnt have to put in a key or validate at all lol windows xp pro sp2 .. never had a problem at all lol

Nope didn't work. Now I'm stuck with a version of XP that warns me every few minutes with a balloon in the lower right that says "You have 30 days left to validate your copy of Windows"

I got ahold of WinXP Pro a loooong time ago and its an exe file so I usually take one of those Dell Restore discs, clean install WinXP Home and don't even bother with activating. Then I'll install WinXP Pro on top of that and it validates each and every time. I guess if I knew how to convert that exe into an install file, I'd save ass loads of time.
I think this is the same method used with the Vista Upgrade trick but anyways... Tyrus, call Microsoft and tell them to reset your key or get ahold of WinXP Pro from someone since it seems no one has problems activating that. |
