Multiplayer active?

Hi. I see that the Valve Complete Pack is on sale today. As an avid fan of TFC and Valve games, I am gonna pick it up. But I also see that the multiplayer for TFC seems to be dead or close to it. I tried TF2 and it's cool but not nearly as fun as TFC.

I am wondering how active this mod is. Could I find at-least one server that has 20 to 30 people playing with no bots?

You don't need to purchase any game to play FF anymore (since TF2 became free).

Things should get more active after our next patch (2.43) which is coming out late today or early tomorrow.

FF does not have bots, and the max players per server is set to 22.

Most of the time there's a server with people on it, but it gets very popular late-ish afternoon US time throughout the night daily, or for me, being a Euro, very late night/early morning daily :P, especially so on weekends. And the game is becoming more popular. The pickup community play several times throughout each day usually.

As well as the excellent interactive Training Fortress Forever offers through the main menu, if you need any extra help, I and others will happily join you in game and teach you all of the basics, advanced techniques, and explain the game in detail to you.

Just ask

, and I'll add you on steam and walk you through anything you want to know or learn.

Anyway I found a server that had 5 people on it. Tried to join and it said something about server class being different. I updated to 2.43 so I don't know what that's about. I'll mess around with it. Thanks!

Ever since Steam came around everything went down the pooper. I know a lot of good has come from it but now the old TFC is dead. I played TFC for years and then I had problems with Steam so I started to play non-Steam NEOTFC with the hook mod (FUN!) and I can't put into words how much fun I had. I go in TF2 and it just doesn't feel the same. The Sniper feels like Call of Duty, and I can't use my grenades. I feel so lost in it!

It's a completely different game and maybe it will grow on me over time but I am glad this mod is around.

BTW my steam id is DevericaWolf.

class tables is probably because the server wasn't updated yet. It was only released this morning and things can take a little time to update.

Skywalker was having the same problem last night. After he reinstalled the mod using the full package, he was able to join the server I was playing in earlier that had already been updated.
