We are less planing another community, more planing a site for freely hosting FF and other TF related files.

Good plan, then. I didn't add it to the post, but I was thinking that if its intent is to be like a backup then that'd be sweet as. But yeah, no need for an additional community, really.

The idea is not to take away for the main community but rather a different community aimed mostly at hosting files. While there would be a forums, it would be different then the FF forums.

The idea is to give mappers, modelers, and moders a community that would better fit there needs. Don't worry... none of us want to split the FF community.

But... FF's site will be doing that. They want it to be THE place to get anything FF-related. That was my whole point.

Should have official FF map packs of anything that makes the grade hosted on torrents. An annoying part of cs:s servers is that maps can be tough to get a hold of or no one has the map so they jump to a new server, and that's why barely any servers play a ton of custom maps, empty servers. You guys should make an in game in to map torrents if you run into a server that doesn't allow dowloading.

It's not. Unless someone is working on it in secret, I don't think it will be for a while, if ever.

Good luck with the site. TFC got a huge boost from popular 3rd party sites like the Catacombs, Planet Fortress, Custom TFC etc.

http://www.custom-tfc.co.uk/ Is gone. Thats where I found the best weapon sprite ever. Now if FF had a custom mapping site or custom model/sprite site etc I could maybe find it again and instructions on how to place it into FF.

However map hosting is kinda NEEDED...

i am but its no where near done... like i said there has to be someone with adequate server scripting knowledge. as i stated my website would be plain HTML and CSS. so in reality my design will probably not even make it to the final design.

I can work on the server-side scripting for you but did we ever get a definitive design posted? I know its hard for the community to agree on a design as everyone has different tastes... do we have any willing graphic designers on this forum?

If it comes down to it, I can shoot some emails out to a couple buddies in the business and see if I can get ahold of something.
