War3 mod is awful. The balance is poor, the game doesn't support this kind of combat at all, and muddies up the FPS waters with a bunch of needless complication. |

Haaay WC3mod was fun for old CS. I haven't played the Source version though. And yeah, balance was horrible haha..
The concept though is mostly uncharted territory. DotA would work as a CS mod, or as its own standalone online multiplayer FPS. |

I'm sorry for being bored of cs:s, it's like dust2 non stop and people always going for kills and not the objective. The ninjaserve wc3 server is always updating the mod, and some of it is pretty fun. Undead lets you cruise around and jump really high, human lets you teleport around a few times, all I'm saying is that it gives it a bit of that feel you know, it's not tfc, not by far. It at least gives some differentiation between the races and manages to change the play mechanics of those boring old maps. I just want a fun multiplayer game to come out. |

TF2 is clearly about reinventing Team Fortress, while FF is trying to preserve aspects that are proven winners in the eyes of gamers, though with FF that also means inheriting fundamental flaws in the gameplay that to this day have not been overcome. Though that is certainly not to say TF2 won't have it's flaws either. In the case off TF2 it seems like the predominate thought process when tackling issues was how can we do it different, while with FF it seems like the thought process was how can we improve on TFC. Really the games will speak for which thought process model is better, however I personally think when making a mod with gameplay like TF, you need a healthy mix of both.

that was awesome, really looking forward to it.
As for pricing and availability: Amazon has orange box on pre order for £25.99 ($44.99 on amazon.com) ep 1 was originally $20 on steam so i expect Ep 2 to be $20 (or at tops $25) stand alone. Tf2 will be marketed as a stand alone game much like CS:S or DoD:S and so i would think it will cost $20 also. Portal will be $15 (maybe dropping as low as $10) my thoughts anyway. they will be released separatly or in different packages, it makes poor marketing sense to not do it. |

Seen as this other thread (rather than the FIRST!) meet the solly thread has become more popular, I'll point out again that the soldier in TF2 = offence.
