Request: Gore guide

After settling on the most effective fps cfg, I'm missing the blood and gore that makes it worth while.

I've found some cvars that obviously control blood and gibcounts but I can't figure out how to control duration, or which _blood command does what.

Pretty please could somebody point me to the cvars and explain the funcion of each one?

well i know "cl_gibcount #" controls how many gibs are spawned when a player explodes. as for the blood, i would like to know that as well. cl_gibcount 20 is cool and all but i need more bloooooood!

r_decals and mp_decals are what you want to change in order for you to get blood back

change those to around 200, which I believe is the default and also remove the corresponding entry in your autoexec.cfg

Code:
r_decals "200"
mp_decals "200"

I tried the decal commands (thx Nixon) for a while and they didn't lag me as much as I thought they would, even set them to 3-400. But I didn't have time to test what the difference between them is. It would be intresting because bulletholes and other non-blood decals aint that important if you could have even more blood instead.

I also tried r_drawmodeldecals. Which sounds like it would make the blood stick to players. But I didn't get to see what happened because it crashed the game as soon as I shot somebody.
