New guitar needed here aswell!
Well, i figured i might aswell make my own thread.
I'm going to be looking into aquiring and saving up for a new guitar but i want to figure out what to go for. I kinda want a guitar that can handle a few things, mostly lead and solo playing and some rythm stuff. I guess the style would be more towards heavy, as all the jazzy stuff can be done on my les paul (while thats not perfect i'm not going to splash out on a hollow body). I want something that has a nice rich sound and an interesting tone. I do quite a bit of sweeping and stuff like that but i dont want an ultra thin neck either. 7 string is an option . So far i've only kinda looked at the ibanez universe and some vigier guitars. I'm going to try and see if i can find a shop that has caparison apple horns(since im a bit of an IA fan ) to see what they are like even though it strays a bit from what i want but i still want to give them a go. I'm open for stuff like PRS or Tom Anderson if can find a used one thats not way too expensive. But any recomendations in a sorta upper mid/upper price range is welcomed.

Then if you wanna play heavy shit like deathmetal/blackmetal/powermetal or whatever id go for the ESP LTD viper 407 seven string.
A buddy in my class who is a hardrockin son of a bitch go it and its teh shit, Drop down the B string to A and you'll be making the neighborhood into a wasteland. Its quite close to the Les Paul in playing snice the fretboard is quite thick. The Pickups are the EMG's which are made for disting and heavy music. Its definetly NOT an allaround guitar but its really one of THE heavy ones and snice you already have the les paul its perfect. There are more budget variants out there but snice you already have a les paul i figure you want something that lasts. Its also very sexy as you can see. |

Yeah nothing wrong with that one but more of an allaround with more to the harder side but still the Viper pwns snice its quite like the Les paul so he wont have to readjust his playing and the emg pickups come with it so he can kill puppies with his shredding.

Haha ok i guess i need to make myself a bit more clear. I'm looking for something a bit more unique and special than that ibanez and that esp. Which is also why ive started to move away from the Universe aswell.
Like i said, if i can find the right one for the right price im also looking into more custom stuff like Tom Anderson, Suhr and what ever. Also, i think emg pickups are a big pile of steaming horseshit Coronius.

i had a gibson flying v for my birthday a year ago and i was very pleasantly surprised. i used to think it was overpriced horseshit that sold its name and shape but it's actually a very good guitar. also it seems it's kind of how you want it. it has warm, pleasant tone, a reasonably fast neck and a pretty unique feel.

Lol, I always though that. It is a good guitar and seems quite under-appreciated.... but I usually play sitting down so it's not for me. If I ever have loads of money I might buy one and mount it on the wall. It looks quite iconic.
