The sole reason I'm getting a Wii
Red Steel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM86d...elated&search=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAWo5...elated&search= That looks so fucking awesome(even if the guy is a little weird). You don't even have to do that much movement, it's definitely kewl. Keep in mind though, none of that was prerendered and you can play the game how you want. For example, you can either let the guy whose weapon you shot out of his hand go, or execute him. You can either that enemy's throat at the end or accept his surrender. All of this will go towards a dynamic influence and story system in the game. I would definitely recommend buying a Wii just for this since it will be considerably cheaper than the other next gen consoles. Also, it has an M rating with lots of gore so don't be fooled by the video. Last edited by o_dancingfool; 08-05-2006 at 03:03 AM. |

+Super smash brothers brawl. But for red steel... with any melee weapons, they should make you sign a contract before you play with them saying you can't sue your friend when they stab you in the eye with the controller while trying to knife you. Seriously, I see people getting hurt badly from the Wii.

But it will be painfully fun. And anyone with common sense should know to stand back.

Finally makes console first person shooters more playable.
What were the audience laughing at during the demonstration? |

That thing he does at 1:30 is dumb. Instant-no-skill-kills are not cool.

That's another upside, everyone has their own unique playing style. But what did you expect? It's a cool feature with limited power each mission for use in a jam.

That movement is REALLY awkward... like playing an N64 FPS with a bad stick.

As of right now, if i get one of the next crop of consoles, its gonna be a wii. That looks pretty amazing.
Im not overly impressed with the 360, and the ps3 seems that it'll be stupidly expensive. Hopefully the wii is a bit more reasonably priced. |

rember guys, if they have the system built into the console that the main controller works like that, there can Easily be gun games using gun controllers. hell they can make gun shaped wii normal controllers and it would work the same.
The big thing is non gun games, like zelda was mentioned with the pulling of the bow string back. And like i said if MGS comes out and i can acually crack enemies necks with the controller motion id be in heaven. |

This is no jusdgement on the wii but that game doesn't look very good, looks like the arcade games where you shoot with a handheld gun etc.
The swordplay is promising, if done well. And I really think they should skip that orange-ish slash you see everytime you make a slash. But I do expect a lot of lawsuits coming out of this, need I say especially in America Nintendo better put some huge warning label/disclaimer on the console saying they are not liable for any physical injuries caused while swinging the controls or else they might just go bankrupt. |

They'll probably do that or have a waiver. There's this one Mexican restaurant I go to called Tijuana Flats(mmmm) where they have this huge collection of hot sauce and for most of it you have to sign a waiver if you buy a bottle. Now, emergency room visit because of a deteriorating and rapidly closing throat due to hot sauce is a possibility. So this can be some indication of how dangerous the Wii controller is. Except it will be for a fractured skull. I can just imagine me playing with, it flailing it around, and then I lose my grip, and it flies up and hits me square in the nose. Hard.

That looks awesome! I was afraid the wii controller would have to be used like a remotecontrol always but shows what you know about a console youve only heard the name of. Finally it seems they've gotten rid of that jackass ass Bam Marghera woot! |
