Man, I thought the music and sound were great. Multiple times I noticed the music getting spooky when there was nothing around. I was impressed by that. Also the creaks and groans of the ship made it seem like there was constantly someone sneaking up on me and I had to check my surroundings.

yea i did like dead space, never beat it, never bought it. I'll rent it again to beat it sometime though

One time I was using an upgrade bench and as soon as I closed it there was a monster right next to me. I beat the crap out of it.

Like I really need to be reminded that Dead Space isn't all that scary in my opinion... Christ, I know there are people that'll freak the fuck out when one of the monsters gets up for the first time. There are people that will find this scary.

I know it's a goddamn opinion. It's always a goddamn opinion. Reminding people of that isn't going to get them to stop stating their opinions in a manner you idiotically perceive as a presentation of fact.

It's your fault, not ours, if you think we don't realize we're speaking opinion.

But when my best friend, who "quit" Silent Hill 2 a record 40 times, can breeze through the game without even being startled once... it's failed.

The game has surprised me once (intentionally). A corpse fell from the ceiling directly ahead of me. Unfortunately, that was all it did. It fell. No dramatic camera pan, no reaction from the player, just some shoddy ragdoll physics on a poorly-textured model (the gore looks like clay dammit!). It was over in a split second, and then it was just comical.

Also, I'd like to mention I'm tired of games treating me like a retard.

Pick up the Fusion Cutter. In blood, "CUT OFF THEIR LIMBS."

This could have instilled doubt. If the advice is so helpful, how come the shmuck that wrote this isn't rocking as much face as I'm likely about to?

Then, the computer voice chimes in with helpful menu. "Cut off enemy limbs to blah blah blah more damage blah blah kill faster." So that pretty much sets it in stone.

Five steps further, one of those idiot NPCs that keep chiming in via grainy float-video pops up to mention that I should try using the fusion cutter to cut off their limbs.

About thirty minutes later, I finish dicing up an enemy, and the computer comes back with a helpful screen, "blah blah cut off their limbs blah damage blah push A to continue." Seriously, it thought I'd need a reminder of the core gameplay mechanic after half an hour and 45 kills added to my stats list?

Back to those NPCs, why is the female such a bitch? Why is the guy such a dick?

Why does Isaac lurch forward like he has severe mental issues? No sane person hunches like that.

Hunching is common for people being in combat, cause when hunching you're a smaller target and thus are harder to hit(not much, but anyway). And how it is ever related to his mentality?
