Silly requirements of GH3 for PC

Bah, I do say, they're rather fucking appalling, WoW runs on about half the requirements GH3 needs, I can't be arsed upgrading my brothers PC for him to play it, so we're stuck with a dead game for a while..

Minimum Requirements:

Intel Pentium D (DUal) 2.8ghz or AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1gb of RAM on XP, 2GB on Vista
ATI Radeon x800 or Nvidia 7600

I'm sorry, but isn't that a TAD excessive for the way the game looks? My brothers computer meets all of the specs, except he has an Nvidia 7300, this doesn't allow him to play at all, he attempts to load it up and it just brings up "GH3.exe has encountered an error", I'm glad I let him try it before christmas, would've sucked to encounter this problem on christmas day.

The fuck? You're telling me a game that can run on a PS2 can't run on a 7300? Complete bullshit.

I don't know how the game looks, but the only part that might seem excessive to me is the processor, considering the game is new.

I thought about getting this on 360, but having to pay $80 dollars for it is gay.

Oh, Guitar Hero 3. Played it on the Wii. Fun, but songs not as good as #1. Anyway, yeah a video card shouldn't have to be that good to play the game.

Well, unless I'm overlooking something and somebody can shed some light on this, looks like he's waiting 'till after Christmas to play on his presents, I'm sure it should run, on a 7300, I assumed the same as you Ihmhi. He has all of the latest drivers, I made sure, I even sacrificed an extra GB of RAM to make sure he's P.C is well over the recommended specs for most of them, sadly this was of no good use. Anybody else had problems?

Like I said, the only thing he's lacking is the GFX card, he has an AMD Athlon Dual Core 4400 2.4ghz (I think(I believe this is one of the recommended CPUs too)) I cannot really help with the exacts as I'm at home now :P thought any suggestions on what it could be and what I could try for him would be great.

(I dread trying to run it on my PC, my PC is utter shite compared to his.)

Seems like he needs a new graphics card then, eh? Bah, humbug.

Least this'll force the wanker to learn to play his Bass now instead, he's had it a year :P

unoptimized games these days is nothing new. If it's more unoptimized, and the specs are so unneccesarily high, that must mean the game is better than everything else right?

LOL WRONG

Would being slightly below the min system specs really cause the game to crash?

Doesn't cause the game to crash, the 7300 isn't a supported graphics card, so it basically just doesn't load.

Yes, even with the minimum specs, reviews state that it has some stuttering issues.

This is what you get for rushing a port like a bunch of fools instead of optimizing it for the platform. Idiots.

Shouldn't be too hard from a design standpoint... low graphics = PS2, medium = Wii, high = 360/PS3.

Really man, they're saying I need this high end hardware to run a game on the PS2, which is 8 year old architecture? Bullshit.
