RP servers

will ff bring back rp servers to team fortress? my brother and me used to play on rp servers for quite a few years. I would be [DT]Smike and he would be [DT]Nicholas. Smike was the "slow" but ill tempered HW guy that Nicholas took under his wing. Nicholas played as a scout, and we had many a enjoyable session. Usually we would spend a little time on a new server explaining everyone the rules, and some would occasional suggest alternative game modes, but all in all we percieved it as a great success.

Will ff encourage more of this immersive playstyle or will it be mindless milling about and firing at everything?

hey you can be the princess in the tower, and i can serenade you with my.... physics gun?

sorry, but this game is an FPS mate. it's like driving a car into a river to see if it can float like a boat..

like beetle said, feel free to set your own RP server up, but be prepared to be ridiculed.

In ww2 the us built a whole load of tanks which could float, granted most of them sank in the storms but still if a tank can float I can imagine you can mod a car to float no problem.

yeah i know the ones, they were for the D day landings. it was literally just a canvas skirt that went up around the edge

they also have some ones which flat. They have floating cars aswell. Just its kinda pointless as a boat works alot better and its cheaper.

You would have more time for ceremonies for instance, greeting and taunting before and between jousts. Normal fortress play is very hectic, with rushing and concing and whatnot. A RP gamemode could be an idea. When server settings where to rp, there would be much longer spaces between rounds to allow for chatting and rp. Modifiers to slow it down to be able to hail concers and such.

I must admit im intrigued to know more about what you get up to on these rp servers. Hell its sounds so out there i'd might even give it a go and join a server with 'rp rules'

SO is this some kind of round based (cs like?) system im not quite sure how you would accomodate these intervals without people getting quite bored.
