hell yeah, i love source

ok 360 fps on a huge map, no vis, the whole grid, all displacements, no fog. just love the space, if only you could use the prop_vehicle_jeep in FF it whould own!

i think i can make a vehicle for this map but thruster based, it whould own if you could parent a player to a physbox, no more shaking in mp, is this possible?
i'm a bit confused, badlands is 34 mb, and if you whould count the triangles it whould be a quarter of this amount, but why is the file 30 times larger? is world geometry that expensive in file size?

this is the full grid used in a single map of 9MB!!!!!

and this is a combine on that map:

Just wait till you add stuff, the fps jumps down dramatically. Ive tried it.

World geometry and entities take up lots of space, displacements are just coordinates. Entities have that plus all the flags and data, not to mention lightmaps.

no problem, i can compile again, thats what really matters
only one question, why does the game crash when there is a info_player_rebel or info_player_combine in the map?

EDIT: what did you try? i have 4 buildings now, and lots of props, still 200 fps. the fog make drop fps more than the props, but its not nice when you see props fading out with no reason

What was your problem then? Sharing is caring!

And remember if your using Fog you can adjust the back clipping plane to stop the engine drawing objects that are invisible because of fog anyway.

The FF team has stated that they have solved the brush-shaky bug, which is what gave me the go-ahead to make 'sky' way back when. So go ahead and make a vehicle, but brush-based vehicles are scary...

And careful about large wide-open spaces - mobility in FF won't be as easy as it is in Tribes, even with vehicles. Trouble is, if you spawn and want to go for the flag but all of your team's vehicles are parked elsewhere, you're S.O.L. Course you could do some creative teleporty-thing, which would be keen.

Because you didn't check the teamplay box in the server config.
