Huh?
I still don't think it is possible. Just look at your overview and put the basics down; it really isn't that hard. |

Show us, then :P
And it seriously isn't that hard to map from a drawing/overview. The ability to perceive is all that is needed, which some people just don't have |

Its not hard to make it up from a plan, what is hard is to get the scale of your plans precisely into the map I am currently doing this for my map.
A method i have found which works is as follows: Take a screenshot of an overview of your map in hammer Then superimpose that image (transparency is your friend) on the plans. You will probably have to scale one of the images, use a common point on the plans to scale with each time you do this. It should now be obvious which parts are not quite right and those which are spot on. If you have gone and pencilled out your plan on paper then you could scan it in or take a picture from vertical that ought to do the trick. |

How do i do the transparancy thing? i meant like i put my image i have of a map i havnt done yet, and put it into hammer and start mapping on that.
And i know theres a program that makes program windows go transparant but i dont know its name. and ill doubt it'll work snice of the 3rd mahony of the hammer edit windows. |

Doodling on graph paper is a good plan.
Failing that, you can make a texture out of your sketch and import that into hammer and apply it to a big flat brush. |

I planned out my first map on graph paper, went to make it, and ran into a problem: I forgot to account for wall thickness.

Trial and error and overall Hammer experience is needed so you don't get scale issues; so just build your map from your plan, compile a section of the map and see if it is as you imagined, if not, go back and rescale it. |

You have to start just blocking it out then take a screenshot of it, alt + printscreen (just above insert) then paste in a program like gimp and change the transparency of the new layer and scale it accordingly. |
