Warlock

If you've ever played Halo2 you'll probably know this map (or called Wizard on Halo).

Just started this an hour ago; not sure whether to make it murderball, 4-team-ctf; or what...thinking murderball.

that looks like it suits murderball quite well if you can make some bases which fit the middle tower thing

Always loved playing Warlock, in Halo 1 there was a map that looked almost exactly the same (can't remember name).

I've got an estimation to the perimeters of the map; with the seen teleporters built into the walls, but my problem currently is thinking of a design that fits the ramp/elevated areas around the central column seen here. I could go for the original look; but it seems too angled. On the other hand I've been trying to make circular platforms, but they seem to contrast the ancient/decaying theme

And the map in Halo 1 was Wizard; Warlock is a remake of it.



I'm just not exactly sure howto put those platforms in there without looking awkward.
One of the things I noticed converting this to HL2 is you can't jump as far, so the platforms need to be closer to the center column; I like this though because it'll be really fast-paced near the middle.
(Don't h8 on the textures; I know they're horrid right now)

stick to the angular shapes they look better and curves are more futuristic; rounded edges aren't the only property that make source maps what they are.

Small update: have generic layout look:


I was originally considering staying true to the warlock map (2 playable tiers and 3 "wall tiers", but it seems too small so I think there will be 3 main levels and 2 levels with the occasional sniping spot. Also need to work on bases; not sure how that will exactly work.

looking very nice, I play Halo quite a bit and I hate the map . but I think it could be very fun to play in TFC. Would it be possible to set the 4 platforms farther away and rely on rj/concs, or maybe some air jets?

I think if you put it within hl2 jumping distance it would really destroy the feel of the map.

The map is Wizard in Halo 1. Same exect layout, just different theme.
