They'd disqualify me from the race.

Well Scuzzy if your going to race I would go for the lighter bike.
But I didn't see any place where it gave you a 1- weight spec 2- gear ratios (amount of teeth on the dif sprockets) 3- see if you can go test drive them some place. I really know shit about racing but for street lighter is probably better. If think about the terrain also if it's all flat or hills , how fast you can switch gears on the bike with out tossing the chain. And this is my bike.

I've been shopping around for a good one lately, but I'm 6 ft 9 and most bikes are made for midgets it seems... Trek seems like a good brand though.

I have nothing to add to this discussion but a picture of my bike since it appears to be the thing to do.

Tiagra is a better component set than Sora although both are good sets.
I have a Giant OCR-1 with Shimano 105 components but if I had to pick between the 2 you're looking at, i'd go with the Gary Fisher. Both bikes have aluminum frames and carbon forks. Aluminum frame will give you a stiffer ride than titanium or steel but they're nice and light. -Icculus |

I-ru-ii-da-vu-i-nn. Kawaii desu.
I know the first part is far from correct... Only taken half a semester of Japanese so far, so the first part is a bit confusing to me, but Kawaii desu was easy enough... More on topic, what bike is that? I'm looking into getting a Honda Nighthawk pretty soon... |

That's a 2000 Honda CBR600F4. Beast of a bike if you don't know what you're doing. It's my third one. Super nice to be able to hop on there and just tear up the twisties right away, leaving the squids who bought Gixxers for their first bikes in the dust.

ハ ル イ ー ダ ヴ ィ ツ ン.
Ha Ru I i Da Vu I Tsu N. I can see where where I messed up on Ha, being two strokes I just figured it as I, and I was wrong... but as for the rest of it; the ー extends the pronunciation of I, and the Tsu character would extend the pronunciation of the N if it we're a small Tsu, but it's of normal size, so it's the full character Tsu in this case... But yea, what bike is that? Edit: Nvm, you edited yer poast. Last edited by Anshinritsumai; 03-24-2009 at 07:39 PM. |
