Yo,
Level 23 Thief now - done all the assassin guild and thieves guild quests so if anyone needs help on these im game Bows do indeed suck in the beginning, it doesn't help that 90% of the dungeons are cramped and more suited to sword play but persevere with sneak - you can just pick off enemies from one side of a room and they still cant see you, especially with the gray cowl on... The best Bow ive found against undead is called shadow-somethingorother - turns undead upto level 22 l0lz still think the recharging of magic items is way too overpriced - one of my iteams has max 22000 charge - thats like 22000 gold to recharge. bit of a joke. |

A gold per charge seems pretty reasonable to me... learn to Soul Trap and do it yourself. Or make a backup weapon and enchant soul trap to it.

The armor I'm using right now is the stuff they give you when you join the Dark Brotherhood. It ups all my attributes 8 pts, and is extremely light. So good for pickpocketing. All my equipment is from the Dark Brotherhood right now. I've got a Steel Bow, still not very useful. But I found a Dai-Katana that does 6 damage. Where do I get magical items? Or do I have to do something myself... I've got about 5 grand on my right now, so I'm looking to upgrade my equpment. |

Magical items you can usually get from higher-level bandits. S'where I get all mine. If you want a really nice sword, I can tell you a place to get one.

Alrighty. Up in Chorrol there's a bar. Can't remember the exact name of it right now, unfortunately, but there should be an old Imperial man in there. Talk to him and he'll mention his two sons who are going to defend his farm from monsters. Volunteer to help, meet the sons near Weynon Priory, walk to the farm, protect it from the waves of Goblins (who get progressively stronger), then walk them back to Chorrol. Meet the man inside the bar, he'll thank you and give you a sword, Chillrend. Good damage and Frost Damage 10 points on Strike with 2700 charges. I'm *still* using it.

There's two, I think. I'm fairly certain it's The Grey Mare.

I recommend Oblivion Gate quests to get Sigil stones - drop 'em in the weapon of your choice for a nice enchantment (Silence, Lightning, etc)
The easiest thing to do for recharging your enchanted weapons is to get your Conjuration and Mysticism skills up. Getting Mysticism to 25 for Soul Trap is cake, though getting Conjuration up enough to summon pets takes longer. I recommend getting the "Bound Dagger" spell, and just keep re-summoning it. Finally, keep all the soul gems you get, and buy empty ones too, then just summon your pet, trap, kill, and repeat until your gems are filled. You'll probably get some blade skill too Still, a crapload of effort to keep your weapons enchanted - much cheaper, though. Plus, enchanted weapons are tons better than regular ones. Yeah, Bows suck when you don't have much sneak ability - plus I wear heavy armor Still, I usually lead off with a Bow hit, since a 10 second silence screws mages. |

I use restoration and a little bit of destruction when I'm desperate.
EDIT: Man, on-screen keyboard is really slow and tedious.> Also, what the heck is charmap supposed to do? Last edited by o_frenchtoast; 04-03-2006 at 03:51 AM. |

Show you what characters are available in a given font, and allow you to see their keystrokes, codes, etc. Also lets you copy them for pasting later.

I am a level 11 Custom Class, mainly Marksman
but also have Block, Blade, Conjuration, Restoration, Destruction Im in all the guilds, except the blades, i havent joined them yet. My question is when i want to do the theives guild missions the guy i need to talk to on the waterfront is not there at night anymore. The arrow shows he is there, but i dont see him, and before you ask yes i have sold stuff to Ongar to get him to trust me. I have sold about 5k worth of stuff to Ongar. Has anyone else had this issue? Should i use a detect life spell to see if he is around? |

I don't think charmap can help me, because every once in awhile it'll work. It's like something in the hardware just ignores my keystrokes.

My internet decided to take a weekend vacation, so i got the chance to stop trolling around these forums and play oblivion...
Im now a level 22 Berserker (Blade, Block, Blunt, Heavy Armor, Armorer, Athletics, Destruction) Ive joined the mage and fighters guilds, almost got all my recomendations for the arcane university (i NEED those spell services), got some good money from fighters guild things. Im trying to get a full suit of daedric armor, and im just running around finding things to do while im getting my recomendations. Argonians rule, cause they dont need any water breathing stuff or any cure poison, woot. |

I've been inactive on the forum, you dont need to gues why..
I had a lvl 19 char. But being a vampire sucked the big one. (yeh the big one, I aint playin' :O) I Thought the vampire cure quest was taking to long so I started over. After I got lvl 5 with my new char I saved and overwrited my other char. After that, I went to bed in "the king and queen" tavern and I got bitten by a vampire.. No worry's right? I got my old save. so I wanted to load it and deleted it by accident. Now im a frigin' vampire all over again.. why does god hate me? anyways: I've done all but the mage's guild so if you need any help feel free to pm me. |

almost like a cheat that one jiggles hehe - no good tip seriously
FT - do the last thieves guild quest and you get the gray cowl - its great for sneaking and shooting circ - i would love to enchant my weapons but i started off with thieves and assassins quests and ignored magic completely except restore so its taking me some time to get access to that in the arcane university. good tip - some banditos near the imperial city in a cave on the main island - their leader has boots ofthe shark - great for water walking thou they get broken in fights prety easily PS - has anyone collected all 10 of the Ayleid statuettes yet? just got one so far - ayleid ruins creep me out. PPS - i found a book listing all these mythical-but-probably-exist items stuff like 'the lords mail' and some daedric crescent blade - only one of which is supp - im guessing these are the uber 1337 items - any idea where to find any of em? |

My brother found it, too.
There are some items that have ALWAYS been in the TES series... some ones I know are in are The Cuirass of the Savior's Hide (light armor with big magicka resistance enchantment), and I'm pretty sure the Wabbajack was reintroduced (a staff that, upon striking an enemy, turns it into something else). Then there's Umbra's Sword (introduced in Morrowind), Azura's Star, the Mace of Molag Bal, and goodness knows what else. Most of them are found through Daedric Shrine quests.

Yeah, you get Azura's Star easily on the main quest. I'm not sure what it does, though, since I gave it to Martin right away. Oops...
It had a "Soul: Empty" on it, so I guess it had something to do with trapping souls. The first time I encountered vampires (this quest), I already had the "Cure Disease" ability, so it was cake I have to get Tiber Septum's Armor now, but, because of exams, I can't play much Oblivion for the next two weeks |
