well i know thats what you do. try using the x y z coords and use whichever mean up...y i think?

and you have to make sure you put enough of a push to lift you...also, you cant walk right into a trigger push if its pointing straight upwards and expect it to do anything, try jumping (im not trying to call you stupid, just covering all the bases)

I talked to nukem273 (because he just did this), and he said that I need to put 90 for x. I did that, I jumped, I did everything, and it didn't work

x is pitch, y is yaw, z is roll.

You want it to be pitched 90 degrees from horizontal.
...or -90 degrees. It's kinda random.

There's the 'point at' button, and lots of entites have an option to point at another entity.

just incase somebody searches this and has this same problem i'm going to post how it was resolved....

he sent me the rmf and i noticed 3 things:

1)the angle was off

2)the Trigger_push "brush" did not extend the entire length of area that you needed to be pushed

3)there were entry's in the "targetname"(or Target..whatever)

Solutions:

1) to get it to push you "UP" do this...

a. select your brush that you want to tie your trigger_push to
b. right click brush and tie entity to it
c. select brush again and press "ALT" and "ENTER" at the same time
d. look to the top right of the window you just opened you should notice
a round black direction icon thing'ah ma jig(lol whatever)
e. in the drop down list just below that select "UP"(NOTE-if it does not
change the line in the icon to a dot in the center select "UP" again
...i've had trouble with this many'ah times..
f. done!

2) create brush the entire length of the area you want to be pushed(NOTE-if you want it to bring you to a ledge up high depending on the speed it may or may not need to be extended past the ledge)

3) the ONLY things you need to do in order get the "Trigger_Push" to work or change the "Direction" and "speed"(in this case i found that for what he needed 1500 was suitable)

*NOTE* you need to have the AAAtrigger texture applied to the ENTIRE brush

if anybody disagrees with this or has something to add please do so...

(i dont like searching for something and finding the exact question i have only to find it was resolved with no explanation to how it was resolved)

Just so people know, a push speed of 800 (in HL1 and CS:S, 600 in other HL2 stuff) is the same as gravity. So 800 push UP will counteract gravity.

if facing upwards of course, so this means that you get the same result of trigger_gravity with gravity 0 ?

(oops dubble post)
