what blue is that. seems VERY blue like: R0 G0 B255

other than that it's looking great. probably not worth tweaking yet though.. always looks a bit different in game once you've got normal/bump maps etc

The blue is a Paint.Net cloud render that's between R:0 G:0 B:255 and R:0 G:63 B:255 overlaid on a medium grey. I've been thinking about de-saturating it.
Also, I've been having a lot of issues trying to get the Gmax file into an SMD. I can't seem to find an exporter that keeps the UVW mapping in place or mess up the wheels. If anyone could point me in the direction of one, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Since I can't get the thing out of Gmax, I'm going the lazy way and building it in Hammer and running it through Propper. Here's the current progress, including temporary explosives that'll be replaced by detpacks later

What formats can Gmax save to? You can send it to me and I'll export it from 3ds max.

You know, if you're a student you can get Softimage, 3DS Max, or Maya free for a year.

EDIT: also if Gmax can save to .obj, you can compile from that instead of .smd.

or use Blender, an open-source program.

Don't let the open-source part fool you, it's powerful, very powerful.

Gmax can natively save as either a .gmax or .p3d file. I downloaded a MAXscript that will generate a .obj but it removes the mapping

Doesn't that require my school to use it?

I've tried fiddling around with Blender (2.55 if it matters) but it's so different from what I know that it's difficult for me to do anyhing past a odd collection of cubes

Read tutorials, even going from 3Ds to Maya is funky.

I approve of this thread. Payload in FF would likely be awesome.

I want to try to get a dev map converted over to payload for testing, Bridget, did you figure out a way to have the cart move at different speeds depending on how many people are nearby?

afaik, your school does need to be a partner of autodesk's. in order to receive an account, they verify your student's status through the mail adress you have at your school.

I finished the Lua for this gamemode a long time ago (actually, the next day after this post). No one committed to making a map for it, though, so I just dropped the project.
