Would it be possible to make a NeoTF server side mod for this?

Is NeoFF a possibility? I miss NeoTF and I think a FF version of it would be awesome. But is it even possible to make such a drastic server side modification with a third party mod such as this?

We have asked SpannerSpammer this question in the past and his answer has been that No, there were no plans to do so. However, I will point him in the direction of this post and allow him to answer it for himself.

I've seen those servers in TFC but I've never actually joined one. I looked it up on wikipedia and the MG idea seemed kinda fun but everything else was just too much.

As long as the abilities were toned down and balanced between classes they were a lot of fun. We ran NeoTF for a long time at [o-t], but in very limited scope. It's been neat to see some of the ideas in NeoTF integrated into FF, like scout's radar.

Shitty hitboxes and poor design ruined CS:S.

Gun game made a boring, watered down tactical shooter a bit closer to somethin' fun like TFC. Ditto on War3 and similar mods.

NeoTF, though, is like making something that is already fun even more fun. And fun is like cotton candy. If you eat too much, you throw up all over your little sister. Or something.

I think neotf should wait its time. It jumped a lot of players to TF at the end by changing the game to something it wasn't.

But as everyone complains that the game (FF) is dying because it wasn't different enough I find it interesting that they bash the only idea that really made it different.


That said, I think FF is great as it is. A few more tweaks and I'll be happy with where it goes. Whenever my roommate or our non comp gamer friends check it out they are always intrested. A bunch of them have never heard of TF so their excitement is strickly how much fun it looks to play. I think time will bring this mod up. People will see it, and realise it and then enjoy it again.

I posted on other forums I'd spread the word, but there aren't many people to spread the word to. I'll harass my friends into it.

I used to play all the time on O-T's NeoTF server and totally loved it.
I wouldbe very interested in a NeoTF port over to FF.

Dude, if I were you, I would get off my goddamn high horse. That day has already passed.

When you have 2 MODs conceptualized by BillDoor, (yes, I know, more people
were involved in creating FF, but he was the one who really got the
ball rolling) there's going to be similarities. His Chat location and Scout
Scanner/Radar features were implemented in FF. He can stick his concepts
into any MOD he chooses, because they're his. Just remember where he
put it first, in Neo.

However, long after BillDoor left FF, the spy "sabotage" feature was
put in FF. I like this feature very much, in Neo we call it MultiGun Capture.
Where the hell did you think that scavenger Voogru got the idea for this
feature in his ExtenTF MOD?
MG Capture applied to SentryGuns, I swear, the guy has never had an original
thought in his head. Of course his contribution to FF...you guessed it:
Sentrygun Capture. Sorry I mean "sabotage".

So, let me re-iterate:
1. We're not interested in making a plugin for FF.
2. FF already has something old, something new, something borrowed, something BLU.

If there's a MOD that needs help, it's TF2, I wish I personally had the free
time to work on this, sadly I don't right now.

Be glad, FF got it right where VALVe got it so goddamn wrong.


P.S. I don't care about the opinions of the nubs, however, if I see
anyone from the FF Staff (be it lowly forum mod nobodies or higher)
bash Neo, I will personally chew your ass out.
