Yeah, unfortunately you yourself will show up as invisible, and if it's a client-side, you'll only see what's happening within a certain radius around you, but you can definitely find out things that are going on outside your field of vision.

The solution would be to offer downloadable patches like you are doing now along with the auto-updates. It's very easy to have multiple installs of a game.

IMO, Fortress Forever (like zombie panic) will do very well with steamworks; the other servers completely burst with population now, and unlike some of the mods, fortress forever has lots of servers, just not many people

That is gonna be pretty FAIL if FF goes with achievements. Might as well go get the whole experience and play TF2.
Honestly. Somone tell us if there will be achievments in FF so i can just /quit now and not waste my time. |

Of course, they won't be used to unlock anything, and most of them will just be generic stuff... the good part about Achievements, though, is that they'll lead inevitably and inextricably to proper statistics, a better Fortress Points system, and a bunch of other improvements alongside. If getting a stupid text blurb everytime you do something neat bothers you, though, you're probably better off G'in TFO now. rofl. How Achievements are going to lead to the game becoming TF2 is beyond me.

As long as they don't unlock anything, it doesn't sound too bad. But I still feel they are a bad way to go. Or you could say, I feel they don't go along with Fortress. |

If achievements don't unlock content AND don't require you to do stupid things (Destroy 50 Lv3 SGs with your spanner LOL), and go instead with useful things (Heal 50 teammates that are on fire), then I'm up for it.
On an unrelated note, I don't like unlocks per achievements neither ;D |
