This concludes the first week of night fights. I'd like to say the program was a success to say the least, especially since I got to see a lot of forum regulars and testerz I have not seen in a while.

FYI, Hawk Eye is still a douche with the blue pipes.

Kay people, update. Night Fights is now going to be following a map schedule. The schedule is as follows:

Monday (CTF)
ff_medieval_b2

Tuesday (Sports)

You could use WaterHazard. Though CZ2 is also a kind of AvD style map anyways (I like warpath style more, dunno the other players)

The maps I picked out, for the most part, are not terribly confusing. They're open and easy to play. (AvD night is an exception, those maps are complex for a reason.)

I checked out and considered waterhazard and basicbowl. Basicbowl is nowhere near finished, and waterhazard is not remotely friendly to newbies.

Darn you got congestus on a Monday, i nver get to play on Mondays. Id like to see congestus added to a Friday night config..if that were at all possible. Maybe moving another map to the night where congestus currently is..?? I really dont mean to be a pain, just seeing what is or isnt a possibility

Well thing is, I didn't just pick out the maps for ease of play. I also wanted to stay as far away from dev maps as I could. (I know, nothing you can do about the AvD maps...)

For the three CTF nights, the most popular maps on there are openfire, 2mesa3_classic (popular among the ffpickup crowd, at least), and congestus. Most importantly, they are not dev (official) maps. So I spread the three of them out.

I did it kinda randomly, with smaller maps starting off the night and leading up to larger ones. It can be changed around, but the configs and such are already set up. I'd like Night Fights to run for a couple weeks before I go and decide to change the setup because it took me like 6 hours to figure out a good one.

So, night 1 of the map list. Not a lot of people were around for the first map but things went pretty well. congestus was, of course, a success because everyone loves that map.

startec got some criticism but it was mostly unwarranted - mostly it was people who were bitching simply because they were unfamiliar about the map. Once those few people finally STFU we actually had fun on the map.

When it got to session, things went to shit relatively quickly. There were 20 people in the server, and while I wanted to give the maplist a chance the complaints got to the point where I said I'd change it if they could muster 10 rockthevotes. Half the people liked the map and half wouldn't stop complaining about it. Eventually it was changed to 2mesa3_classic, which worked out alright.

Tomorrow, sports night! I'm looking forward to getting some good gaming going with youse gais.

It was fun regardless. After you guys left things really heated up and we had some really good back and forth...though I'll admit that some of the piping of the enemy's front door and respawns was a bit annoying at time. There are some absolutely INSANE spies in the FF community.....bastards! GG's all!

Monday nights I likely can't ever be around for the 1st map...but the second one for sure.

If I could, I would like to suggest ff_banderas for the AvD night if cz2 is not a winner. Although it's not really Avd, it is flagrun esq and a very fun map once you get the layout down.

I've checked out banderas. I definitely like the nice in-game map it has - pretty damn cool IMO. For now, like I said we're gonna let this schedule run and see how it plays out.
