One has to wonder how the base builders managed to grow a tree up on the battlements

But the poor tree has no ground to spread its roots.

Cruelty against trees here.

I certainly can't speak for any of our map designers, but I don't believe that many textures in any screens released (or as yet unreleased) are final. We are still in the process of hiring a texture artist for maps, so we don't have anything mod-specific (team logos, colors, etc), just the standard HL2 set.

I was gonna say that.

Map looks awesome though

Will there be any changes made to the lift going from the back of the ramp room to the catwalk in the flag room, or will it still be holdable by people?

Will still be holdable, but im thinking of making the whole thing a little bigger, also making it a little easier to conc up.

That would be awesome. I like the idea of being able to conc up it a little easier, as it stands there's barely enough room to get by the elevator platform when a soldier rocketjumps up there, let alone a medic or scout trying to conc *straight* up at high speed.

I don't mean to add to the criticism in a negative way, but shouldn't the celing in the generator switch room be of a smooth, constructed architecture? The outer terrain suggests that the generator room is stand alone, that is, it was build on the ground, not in the ground. The current celing suggests a subterranean atmosphere, but the surroundings indicate differently.

Anyways --- The map looks beautiful. The incorporation of the outer terrain is a fantastic idea, I hope to see this implemented on future maps.

I think I can see it better. The whole base is underground is it not and the midmap is sunken in? Makes more sense that way.

i dont think you can complain too much about whats where. lets think about every map. theyre basically carved holes in the ground. try not to think too much into what makes sense lol.

That's true, at least for TF maps. Those details in the new shutdown2 are really nice though.
