I dislike MMORPGs. You actually get rewarded for the amount of time you play.

Yeah, wondering around a huge landscape slashing/arrow and bow'ing goblins and skeletons and other ugly creatures for 200+ hours, isn't really satisfying...

Though I haven't tried this content, so I could be wrong.

Most end-game content is basically everything you've seen before, but jacked way up in difficulty. They make you jump through boring hoops to get a shot at some phAt LeWt. Without that loot as a reward, probably most would never do the content.

Well yeah, but it completely revitalized the trading/playing scene on D2X to the point that the servers are overloaded lol... -.-'

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention; 10% chance on any Melee hit to spawn Hellfire. You know, that cool twisting flames attack Diablo does that has three lines of flame that weave in and out. Much better than the Druid's lame-ass weaker version.

L2: Sucks
[B]WoW[B]: Not my type of MMORPG, but good thing, i HATE the lack of character´s appearance customization besides the gear look
Everquest Saga: Don´t like many things, but fun
Every f2p game that sucks: no comments

And...the ones that i hate the most:

LORTO(Lord of the fucking rings): I HATE IT, I HATE IT, I HATE IT!!!!
Vanguard Saga: HATE IT TOO, been a Betatester for nothing!

List of games that i like:

Ragnarok Online II: Korean Betatester here, this game´s the best Korean MMORPG i´ve played in many time!
Perfect World: Korean Betatester, love the game, it´s like Silkroad II
Ultima Online: Best ever
GunZ: Fun, it´s improving in North America Server(ijiji), i´m one of the Top players
Warrock: Not a bad idea, but they need to update the game, overall, Battlefield copied so many things from this game, that Battlefield 21XX can be considered a Warrock II
Guild Wars: Love, but i hate the PvP
Silkroad: Was fun until it lasted

Perhaps, the MMOG industry´s improving, but there are a lot of games that suck

I don't mind such rewards in a single-player experience. In multi, though, being on such unequal footing from another player is just not fun.

Besides, a good lot of the ones you pay for actually give you a lot in return, like better server maintenance than the free ones and continually updated patches and contents. They HAVE to. If the company sits on its ass and nothing new comes out after a while, they start to lose players (and thus, profits).

Here are my beefs with almost ALL mmos.

The free mmorpgs are all far too similar. Maybe 99% of them all have the same hack/slash feel of gameplay, constant grind, poor community, and little to no updates.

I would probably pay for some of the newer MMOs, if they actually had something that made them truly different. The P2P ones I've seen [and yeah.. I've looked through many... many mmos] still feel like a constand grind-fest. Yeah, PvP is usually better for these, but thats it in most.

The only MMO I played for a really long time was Ultima Online, because it was almost completely controlled by the players. Thus, it had an incredibly dynamic economy. The other pros for UO was the lack of Classes. I didn't HAVE to be a fighter/archer/mage/thief, etc. I could work on any skill I chose, and that led to a good RP base where people could just be Blacksmiths if they wanted to.

But then EA happened. Fucking fucking EA. "I know! Lets buy out a good game, and then fill it with a bunch of 'features' it doesn't need. Lets add ninja and samurai to a middle-aged England mmorpg!!"

:/ I miss old school UO.

Anyhow, its the freedom of Ultima Online that made me like it, and since I played it, I haven't been satisfied with any other mmo because they all lack that.

Not sure about you but Battlefield came out before warrock. GunZ blow it's like tfc except there's even more mechanics to abuse.

Battlefield 21XX came later, and they copied many things about others games, like Weapon development on Warrock, the Jet-vehicle from Quake Wars...

To say you don't get rewarded in other games is pretty silly. What you gain is skill, you become better the more time you invest in an RTS, FPS, or etc.

I'm not sure about you but there's no weapon developement in warrock. It's a fun little battlefield wannabee that still sucks at what it does.

You can't really speak about innovation of other games really. Koreans are the worst at innovation.

Every MMORPG they make are Grind and quest with a shitty PvP system of the side. I could name a few hundred rpgs that are the same.

we make it through the month alive by not spending our money on that sort of shit. we buy the things we need or want instead.
