Having very frustrating prolem with ff starting up

i have a major problem startin up FF. now i go to start the game and the FF menu screen flashes very quikly and disapeers with nothing happening after. no error msg nothing. now i have try unistalling ff and reinstalling it 3 times. then i tryed uninstalling steam and reinstalling steam and it still is doing the same thing. now other games are working and i did not install nething or dl nething recently. im really trying to avoid a reformat of my comp. it would be great if anyone knew the how to fix this problem because im going nuts over here working on it for hours.

Graphics card?
Graphics card drivers updated?
Display Settings?
What site and version of FF did you download and where from?

Usally this is a graphics card issue

NVIDIA Geforce Go 7300
Windows Xp
i cant find the update to my driver ... looked on the nvidia website and had a hard time finding it.
???? any ideas

You said other games are working, but by other games you mean other mods or games such as hl2, tf2, hl2dm etc?

its saying that there is no driver the file can find that it supports so i dunno ... thanks neways man i appreciate it

ive had that problem before as well, but usually its fixed when i restart my computer.

Do me a favor.

Go to this folder:

/Steam/Steamapps/Sourcemods/FortressForever/sound/ui/

and delete any mp3 files starting with "gamestartup"

then try and load the game.

Don't do anything else until you do this.

By the way, reformatting your computer should never be a response to a non-functioning program.

i got it to work ... i did a system restore and played around with some other shit and it ended up working??????????? i dunno my guess is as good as yours .... fucking windows for ya thanks ppl appreciate it!
