Dude, he has a $30 watch on, jeans and a t-shirt, and a 12+ year old motorcycle. He is not a rich kid. (No offense Frenchy...)
So, asshattery aside, sweet ride man. It must be great to finally be able to reap the rewards of all of that hard work. I remember when I got my new computer after breaking my ass putting up a prefab building. It sure felt good to get that thing all hooked up. (: BTW, did anyone ever tell you that you look a lot like the Scout in FF? o_O

You can only drive a motorcycle for like half the year in Canada.

Bike was 1800, and I've already bought a nice Shoei helmet, never gonna ride without it. Before I take it out on the street I'm going to have a full safety inspection, get gloves/armored jacket (probably nylon) boots and do a rider training course. I also plan to never take it out in the rain...

Make sure you read this article on Motorcycle Safety Clothing. Also, I wonder if Motorcycle Airbag Jackets are on the market yet? They basically work under a similar principle to jetskis (with the cord attached to your wrist so if you fall off it cuts the power of the jetski so it does not drive away on its own). If you go flying off of your bike, it inflates to cushion your fall.

one of my friends that got killed on his only had one helmet and gave it to his friend to wear. just so happens somebody ran a red light and he flew way up in the air and landed on his head. his friend only had a few scratches. i'll be honest dude i love they way those bikes look/sound but i'll never get on one. more so because i dont trust myself than everybody else on the road.

First off, no to used helmets, yes to basic and cheap Snell approved full face helmets . If you did get a brand new Shoei, good on you, they're great.
Remember one thing: No matter how good you are, YOU WILL FALL. Do not prepare for the ride, but for the crash. Get good, authentic leather (go to your local thrift store and you can get a full outfit for around $100-150, which is the cost of entry level riding gear, per piece), and some wrist braces to protect your carpal tunnel during riding (bending your wrist too much isn't good for it). And of course, no matter how safe you try to ride, some high horse dumbass is going to cut you off, run a light and slam into you, not see you because they're 30 feet in the air with their SUV, et cetera. Get some good kevlar reinforced gloves with steel tips on the knuckles for when someone does cut you off or something. If they don't appologize, they obviously care more about their car than you. Make them pay . And by the time they get the pencil and paper out to write down your LP, you'll be doing 200+ Kph the other way. Otherwise ride safe and make sure everything's in good condition. Blowing a tire out while doing 100+ is extremely scary and dangerous. Congrats on your bike, and have tons of fun .
