It's not looking like we'll be releasing a mapping SDK before we release the mod, unfortunately. You really need FF for the LUA stuff to work, and it's constantly being updated anyway so maintaing dual mods just so community maps can have the final 10% of work done to 'em doesn't really make sense at the moment.

I can't wait at all... I've started playing tfc again just so I can get the urges out of my system. That's too bad that the SDK won't be out before release though, hopefully it won't be too soon after. Eh well, as far as I can tell, the team is a lot further along then the media updates let on. But as a programmer myself, I know that there is a lot of things that must have to be done to get this mod running, specifically because there are so many classes. Hopefully at some point there will be some sort of public beta released kind of like Dystopia did, just with one map. Becuase I can tell ya, I would play well or 2fort all day on repeat for 3 more months while they updated more, not to mention that the release would give the team a lot of gameplay testing with the community to see what kind of bugs and feedback we all get. That's my splurge for the night...

eh, I had always hoped for a release of something but since this is my last semester in college (apparently they make you graduate when you finish so many classes), I'm gonna be selfish and say I hope it doesn't come out until May.
By the way, you're all invited to my graduation. You can only come if you wear a FF t-shirt, suspenders, thick black glasses, and scream "Tennovan" when I walk instead of my real name. We'll all get so many hot bitches it'll be crazy... ...I don't think I make much sense when I haven't slept in a couple days. |

Well, what about a texture pack then? Any official word on that?

I figure that will probably come along with the release too. Just incase something delays the release and most of their custom textures don't invade over into other mods *cough*HL2CTF*cough*.

Not just textures, I reckon they'll port all the maps.
Not that it'll help their shitty mod, since it's so shit. |

HL2CTF is in no way a tfc clone, in the slightest, and is not a shitty mod. They have released quality builds, and IMO the gameplay is great. Just because it has a flag doesn't make it TFC... would you consider the basic Quake 3 CTF to be a TFC clone? Of course not, oh wait, thats exactly what HL2 CTF is like.

You'd think the textures'd get branched no matter when they were released.

I think some of the devs have mentioned that they're working on releasing some textures before the mod comes out, but they want to have a semi-complete array of them so it's not updated every week.

Are there gonna be red (and maybe yellow and green) versions of all the combine blue metal textures?

Yes, I was also wondering if and when a "Texture Pack" would come out. Looking at the new screenshots of bases and stuff makes me want to actually texture...go figure.
Well, we don't really need a whole FF SDK, but a texture pack would be good enough!!! please! |

yep I could really use some ff textures.. just blue and red stuff that you already have. Cuz right now, we don't have anything for team colors.

Recoloring any existing texture is easy. I just hope they do all the work for me. And soon.
