I take that back. A lot of shitty, shitty bands have ruined my faith in most genres. Genres are such a pain in the ass... a band well-known for one genre suddenly branches out and does something else... is it still genre a? Is it genre b? If it's genre a, how would someone who likes genre b find it? If it's genre b, will that confuse fans of band a who only like genre a?

Bands branching out to other genres are progressing... Fairly easy to categorize if you think about. And these genres aren't really supposed to absolutely 100% accurate either. They're supposed to give people who ask what that band plays a general idea about it.
That's at least what I feel about it.
