sure, i want a tropical theme, so the more the merrier. I'm just getting the hang of displacements...any easier way to make decent looking cliffs other than subdiving, noise, sew, then manually pull and tug till it looks right?

im taking suggestions, and trying to add some things rather than a port. maybe make that underwater grate work?

I actually did worked on this map a long time ago (so did Commander...who aka: passed it on to me...but then the project was...lost). So, you have full rights on doing it (although I believed I read a thread where Nezumi pointed out some interest on it...). Good luck mate :D

I was thinking it would be cool to have the first cap point pier be destructable, like that pirate ship map someone made for CS:S. Have the actual cap be on a metal platform in the middle that's not destructable. Maybe set a timer (if you can do it) so it can destruct after 3 minutes.

not quite sure what you mean, maybe because I don't have cs:s.

As for progress, I'm making the first area more convincing, making the building an entire building rather than in thecove for TFC where on one side it was a building and the other side it was foliage. Also, I have this waterfall going well that's right after the first rocky entrance in my pic. EDIT: Here's another pic of progress: Its rough, I'm gonna need some pointers on texturing weird-shaped displacements.

did you get zoauve's permission to do this? just considering he is on the FF dev team, looks okay, but to be honest thecove in tfc was probably one of the prettiest maps there was, good luck trying to keep on par with that :)

you need a brighter water texture, something tropical blue

Yes, more tropical themes please, it's such a shame to put themes like that to waste on hl2's rendering capability, map sort of reminds me of the PVKII' maps.
p.s where the foke is the pirate ship at the start, ITS GONE

yea, get that tropical blue water texture in and it will look 10x more prettier.
