Crashing over and over to desktop!

I'm crashing almost constantly. I like the game, but the crashing gets so irritating. Is there anything I can do that will help now?

All my .mdmp files are between 500-510kbs. They range from 2-3 MINUTES apart to just over an hour apart. It seems to be random. Sometimes I'll be running along with the flag and BAM...desktop. Other times I'll be a cloaked spy and I go to pull out my knife and BAM...desktop. Other times I'll just be running along in a gun fight and BAM...desktop. It seems so random, but maybe there's a pattern somewhere. I crash so much though. Maybe I'll start a list of what I'm doing during each crash.

I'm currently running a laptop with PentiumM 1.86ghz, GeforceFX go1400 (think geforce 6800go), 1 GB ram. I have 163.44 version drivers. I have 800*600 res with all the settings either low or off. I'm only crashing while playing FF. I can post dxdiag and my .mdmp's if it helps at all.

as per this post, it is being worked on. for the moment you can try a few different things that have worked for some of us experiencing constant crashing.
from another thread...
- uninstall and reinstall sound and video card drivers
- run FF windowed, with all the graphics settings on low
- turn off steam community ingame (go to your steam options, select In Game, and uncheck)
- turn sound quality to medium

after doing these things, i still get crashes, but they are not nearly as frequent. the crashes that produce the .mdmps are being investigated by the dev team, and hopefully will be resolved soon.

I just reformated my PC not a week ago, so all drivers are brand new. I have steam communtity off. I have sound at medium already. All graphics settings are either low or off. I crash at least 3-4 times a map still.

if you arent in windowed mode already, try that out.

thats about all i can give ya at the moment. as i said, a fix is being worked on, so hopefully you will be able to play uninterrupted soon.
