Porting 2Fort
So yesterday I downloaded Fortress Forever to try out. I loved all the other fortress games and this one was no different. I found your layout on maps to be amazing. You guys kept the simplicity that was given in TFC and added in some minor details to make it feel a lot more realistic.
I am an admin on the TF2 server Pwndora's Box, and i was wondering if you would mind me porting the 2fort map over for our 2fort server. I can add in some message in the spawn rooms or something to let everyone know that it is a Fortress Forever map and that they should most definitely try the game out. :) |
Serious question, why? The scale and speed and layout would probably be really screwed up
|
playing the same 2fort map gets old after a while. I want to try and change things up a bit. I dont think it would be all too bad. I just think its an excellent map XD

Fortress Forever's scale is smaller than Team Fortress 2. Someone once ported Monkey over and could barely fit within some of the corridors due to TF2 player models being so huge.

Isn't there a way to simply scale the map to what you want it to be? If not, why the hell not?
|
It would fuck up the texturing, and proportions of a lot of things. And you can't resize models in Hammer.
|
Actually I´ve seen tfc 2fort tfc well tfc xpress and a lot other direct ports in tf2, feels smaller yes but works fine. In my opinion let him port the map but keeping the ff team logos and stuff, at least is some type of publicity,

zE, i was planning on adding in a custom texture into each spawn room letting everyone know it was a fortress forever map and that they should come play. My clan has a fortress forever server so i wouldnt mind sending a bunch of people to go populate it XD
|
If you do that, PM me with your server's IP.... I'd like to try that out. Might make TF2 more playable for me.
