Big problem

I have a big problem, I can play 15-25 Minutes and then my screen freezes and the last sound is looping, afterwards I get a black screen and sometimes my PC just reboots. I re-installed FF and only over copied my maps and config files. So what is the problem ? I also use a graphic script to optimise acquirement, normally it should work fine because I played with it like 3 months in a row without any problems. I should post a log but when I crash I need to restart PC so I can not copy logs.. My GFX cart is an ATI 800 XT PE and processor is a AMD 64bit 4800, sometimes GFX heats to 50 °C and Processor stay normal between 30 and 40 °C, is it possible that my GFX just gets overheated ?

Kind regards

Mase

Is it possible? Yes.

Do you experience this with any other games?

Well, try playing HL2 at the same settings and see if you experience a similar issue.

If it happens again, try a game that's fairly graphics-intensive but not based on Source.

try not porting over your config's

try not using your gfx script optimizer.

but if i had to guess, it's probably a heat issue. bust out the vacuum! :)

Try playing again with your case open. It will vent the heat a bit better and it should last a little longer. If that works, then it's probably a heat problem.

Yep I looked at my GFX cooler and it was full of dirt, I cleaned it and now it max goes to 40 instead of 70 ;)
