Yeah, my dad and uncle bothed worked at like Clearnet or something back then so he was super into computers, we had maybe four or five and my uncle discovered Half-Life for us. It has made me a very violent person.

FWIW, everyone parents differently. My 9 year old knows I've played FPS games but is not allowed to watch or play. Personally I think there's alot to be said for the preservation of innocence. There's plenty of time to become jaded and worldly later on...sadly enough.

That's not being a hypocrite. That's him being old enough to do something that his son can't. His son will grow up and then be allowed to play, but exposing a 9 year old to FPSs isn't a great idea.
