Snippet from Valve:-
Required updates to Team Fortress 2 and it's dedicated servers have been released. This is also an optional update for Counter-Strike: Source since the update targets the OrangeBox Engine. Furthermore Half-Life 2: Deathmatch has been officially ported to the Orange Box engine.
Any plans to port Fortress Forever to accommodate the new update?

Thx

There's been no word on when Valve will release the source code that will allow mod support on the current engine. When that happens we will probably give it a shot.

How old is the current Ep2 SDK?
I know the Orange Box Engine has changed a lot since it's release. Good thing too since the Original release wasn't really built for modern hardware...

It's been around since late 2007/early 2008, I believe. Pretty much all Valve games are now running on the 2009 code, which doesn't yet have mod support.

It will be interesting to see what new features will be available with the '09 mod code.
