Posting lists of ids for mass banning, without verifiable proof to back them up, is never a good idea. For all we know, these are ids of people who have done nothing wrong. Seeing as how server admins will just blindly add these ids to their banlists, there needs to be some system to ensure the bans are justified. Your post is not enough, imo.

DG brought up a valid point but this post was started right after the mygot take over of the sn server.To verify any of those exept beer farts as I stated in th first post all the mygot ID's came from steam bans so just go to steambans.com.

But if it pleases the moderator's delete this thread it has served its purpose.

I went to steambans and looked up the first 2 ids in their ban lookup. The first one came back with ,"That id is banned on the steambans network. (STEAM_0:0:10549983)". It has no mention of what name was used or why the id is banned. The 2nd id is not listed in their db.

If you have a different resource that you got your information from, please share it. I've used steambans for a few years now and have not come across a feature that allows you to search bans and pull player names.

Steambans is kinda fucked... you should at least have the demoes and shit that is the reason for the banning available to you. It is not a good idea just to implicitly trust a system without any proof.

Steambans is an intense system of humans watching demos that are submitted. They go through multiple people watching that must all agree what they are seeing is a cheat. I have done a lot of work with Steambans and it is not as easy as you think to get some one banned. If they make it through the SB screening process and they deem them a cheater THEN THEY WERE CHEATERS...

I do not really care what name went with an id, the most important thing is the id, that is the client... Names change and really have nothing to do with it unless you have all the ids you want an still call yourself Mygot...

MyGot is not all about cheating... There number one goal is to freak you out, now they employ cheats and exploits to carry this mission out but would just assume crash the server then win the round… That is downright destructive and is grounds for a perma-ban, I would be more than happy to add an id to my ban list of a person that was found trying to be destructive to a public server…

No system is perfect, and unless you can see the evidence yourself (and with sites like filefront this is entirely possible at 0 bandwidth cost) you should have absolutely no reason to trust them.

If you believe that every single person banned by Steambans was a 100% guaranteed cheater, then you are probably one of the people who also believed that Sadaam had WMDs.

How do we know they are cheaters? Because he posted the ids? What proof is that? In my subsequent posts, I showed, for 1 or 2 ids, that there was not sufficient evidence to backup banning those ids. Banning known mygot/cheaters is a great idea. Banning people without sufficient evidence to support the ban is not.

Those are bans made on my public servers for cheating. Every single permanent ban is backed up by a supporting demo. Now if I were to post a list of those ids here, I would also link each id to the demo. This way people can be confident that they are banning someone who actually deserves it.

Insinuating I am a cheater/hacker because I don't blindly ban people when someone posts ids on an internet forum is ridiculous. If you would actually read posts before having diarrhea of the mouth, you would have actually avoided looking like a fool.

Steambans is a reputable service, imo. I have used them for almost 4 years now and from my experience, the majority of bans that they enforce are legit. Obviously when the human element is involved, mistakes can happen. I would be shocked though if they are not at least 99% accurate in their judgments. The system they use works, and incorporates alot of checks and balances so wrongful bans are not being handed out.

Ihmhi, you should do some research before making statements like that. It's obvious you do not have experience with steambans, so you are not in a position to pass judgment on the quality of their service. :lol:

Please Lock this thread it before turns into a flame war. I all ready admitted making a mistake for posting the way I did but this fucker just won't let go. DG if you read your own post you only verified one and that one could have been removed after it was put in our banned file.
