Yeah, they're 1.1, and fun to play on! NFO are sweet and friendly (and wacky) guys, I really like hangin' out on their server, and I'll be sure to add these to my favs! Nice job guys!

P.S. If you see {NFO}cake, tell him I got a knife with his name on! :p

The {NFO} servers are updated the day any patch comes out.

hey, I was playing on the server and Hunted came up. I was then told that on this server there was no AR use on the Civ. Would you mind putting that sort of thing in the MotD. Thanks.

also, is there a way to permanently modify the options.. quake sound and the like? Or is it an every time one joins the server thing?

Just to let you know, not aring the hunted is kind've a general rule. I don't think I've played on a server in the last 6 years that hasn't had it in motion. It's just an overpowered weapon, especially on such a low level class. Kind've a courtesy thing. Feel free to use it on any of the red guys on our servers though.

I don't think we can make it a permanent thing for each individual user. I don't think it's so bad to change it yourself though, just a quick !quake and you're on your way to having orgasmo, the woman of quake screaming out your rampage.

can the AR just be removed, like the snipes nades? and I'm opposed to the AR is overpowered thing.. especially seeing as how there are only 5 Assassins with no nades.. on that map at least... thats just me though.

That's why we still allow for the nail gun to be used. It's "automatic" but not so ridiculous. 3 or 4 ar shots will kill the hunted every time. It's just not fair. If you want to be a sniper, learn to snipe. That's what I always say.

On life. Have you ever been the hunted and taken ar shots? I'll give you maybe 5 or 6 tops. I've been run down so many times it isn't even funny.

and I've been umbrellaed to death while AR spraying the Civ so many times it's not even funny.

Especially with a Medic giving health.. or have given health. And even more especially with the Medic doing his job and the Hw and Soldiers doing theirs.

Maybe the problem isnt the AR, but a lack of teamwork on the Red/Blue team.

I really think the way its setup now, having alltalk on is the only thing that saves the Assassin team from getting skunked. in my experience.

Was in here yesterday, got pretty packed quality players not being stupid on voice chat. The censor filter hates me tho.

Yes, please be careful though. The admins of the server have been told to enforce the rules strictly. By 'enforce the rules strictly' we mean that we will ban anyone who directly goes against the rules after being warned. Slipping up is fine, that is, as long as it isn't on purpose.

Trying to trick the admins will make your ban permanent.

Edit: About the AR.

The AR in FF is incredibly strong, being able to take down even the heaviest of classes from a long range with ease. AR'ng the prez, a slow moving, low health and armor class, is simply lame. You are an assassin and the class is sniper.

How was JFK killed? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't by an automatic gun.

it's not Assassins Vs Civ. It's Assassins (minus grens) Vs. Civ and 10 HWguys.. or Sollys, or Medics... or a combo. And I must be using the wrong AR. It might be different if there werent Soldiers RJing into Assassin spawn and that sort of thing.

Is it possible to limit the AR/Snipe ammo?






and JKF isnt dead... I cant (not allowed) to say where he is... but lets just say, he and Elvis are doing fine in the land beyond Gibraltar.

There are two automatic weapons that the sniper has.

The Autorifle and the nailgun. The nailgun is fairly weak but can kill the pres in about 10 nails. The AR is faster firing and can kill the pres in about 4-6. The AR looks like the sniper rifle (minus the scope I believe) and the nailgun looks like the nailgun.

The reason for this understood rule is that the pres is very weak and slow. It's even further understood because the class is called sniper. Even further;

n.
1. One who murders by surprise attack, especially one who carries out a plot to kill a prominent person.

The entire point of the map is to do just that. Not only that, but the map is catered entirely around this. Tons of hiding spots, all of which are set up for a quick, unnoticed kill.

The point of the understood rule is to support the style of play that the map was built for. You won't get banned for doing it, but you will get kicked if you do it excessively.

Besides, if the team has 10 HW's then taking out the pres shouldn't be an issue.

Credge, I could buy that if it were at all true. there are constantly meds and soldiers in all those "unnoticed hiding spots".

I dont think that "4 - 6" AR shots will kill the Civ. I've had my AR in his fat belly with the trigger pulled plenty, and it took awhile to get the kill. Seems like more than "4 - 6"

I would love to have the Red/Blue forced to use the allies and sewers, and not be able to get up on roofs and in the shooting spots. And Yellow not be allowed on the lower levels. Someone make a new version!

From what I've gathered from the arguments against AR (on this map) lead me to believe that the Civ isnt being guarded very well, If a Snipe can get close enough to use the AR (or nail) as opposed to the snipers rifle.

I didn't slip up, I meant to say Shit not expecting the censor filter, then I said "I can't say s***" and one of the admins laughed, and apparently said something too cuz they got censored. lol

I think that would be a lua modification for map by map. Unless your using source mod then a admin could load a map specific server.cfg. I use it for turning all talk on and off. You could just make diff class limits in the .cfg's then load them as you see fit when your in the server.

If you want spies, make a different map with spies being used to kill the hunted. Call if ff_paranoia, since the D will just be shooting one another like crazy.

It's pretty hard to get teams motivated to do anything.

There's a huge problem going on with FF. You don't want to kick anyone because it discourages them from coming back to an already small population. You really don't want to ban them because that really turns people off. The only way to safely encourage this is to simply say "Hey, blue, get some O"... which doesn't work most of the time. However, if you want to have any sort of competitive fun then there needs to be some sort of structured play.

It's a catch-22.
