Console will not come up

I click the console key ~ and nothing happens. There is no setting in options to bind a key for the console so I'm not sure what is happening.. It prevents you from binding anything anyway..At least manually through the console. I have my vid card updated to the newest version and the game works but today after a few minutes of playing in a server it crashed and looped the audio, etc. I know other people have been having that issue and I doubt the 2 are related.

Create shortcut to the desktop and then add -console as parameter. I have no idea what the "Enable developer console" checkbox is in the Keyboard -> Advanced options, but it has never done anything for me.

Lol, You have to enable console. Goto options, keyboard, and advanced. It's in there, then you'll be able to press ~ to bring it up.
